πŸš€ Matillion Data Productivity Cloud: New User Setup Guide

This guide walks you through registering and setting up your Matillion Data Productivity Cloud account. Follow each step to create your profile, choose your platform, and launch into the Matillion experience.

πŸ“ 1. Register for a Data Productivity Cloud Account

To begin:

  1. Visit the Data Productivity Cloud.
  2. Click the Sign Up tab.
  3. Enter your company email address and a strong password.
  4. Click SIGN UP to proceed.

You can also use a third-party identity provider like Microsoft or Google to sign inβ€”no password or email verification needed in that case.

πŸ“Œ Note: You must provide your company email address for registration. Personal email addresses will not be accepted.

πŸ“§ 2. Activate Your Account

If you signed up with an email and password:

  1. Open your message inbox and find the verification email from Matillion.
  2. Click the Activate account button.
  3. You will be signed in automatically and redirected to your profile setup.
βœ… Tip: Skip this step if you signed in using a third-party provider.

πŸ‘€ 3. Create Your Profile

You’ll now be guided through three setup tabs.

On the Create your profile page:

  1. Use the dropdown to answer: What brings you to Matillion today?
  2. Use the second dropdown menu "What cloud data platforms do you use?" to select the data platforms: Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, etc.
  3. Click Continue
  4. Add your name, job title, and optionally a phone number.
  5. Choose whether you'd like to receive product news and updates and Click Continue.

🌍 4. Set Up Your Account

On the Set up your account tab:

  1. Select your preferred account region.
  2. Click Continue to move ahead.
ℹ️ Info: Choose the region closest to your users for better performance. To know more, read Account region in Create an account.

⚠️ Your account region stores your data and resources and can't be changed after setup; to use a different region, create a separate Data Productivity Cloud account.



πŸ—οΈ 5. Get Started: Select a Data Platform

You’re now on the Getting Started tab.

  1. Select the Matillion trial warehouse to begin exploring immediately (No setup required).
  2. Or choose to connect to your own platform: Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or Databricks.
  3. Click Continue.
πŸ“Œ Note: Setup can take a few minutes. Please stay on the page while your account and warehouse are being configured.

ℹ️ Info: Now you're a registered user of the Data Productivity Cloud, you will automatically be enrolled in the 14-day free trial. For more information, read Free trial.

βœ… Tip: When you create an account, you're assigned the Super Admin role with full access to all projects and environments, which can be modified later. Also, Invite a second admin to your account for redundancy. For more details, read Manage account users.
